Making your own natural eco-friendly cleaning products is easier than it seems. DIY products are an important part of going zero waste, enabling you to avoid plastic while maintaining cleanliness. You can find a couple of simple recipes for the most popular cleaning products below.
Laundry paste
1
part household rapeseed oil soap
1 part borax
1 part washing
soda (sodium carbonate)
2 parts water
(Optional) A few drops of
essential oil
Blend all ingredients until the paste has a consistency of a cream. Ready! Use 1-2 spoons per laundry. Store your laundry paste in a closed jar.
Toilet rim blocks
3
parts baking soda
1 part citric acid
your favourite aroma
oil
silicone ice cube mould
You need water but not too much: excess amount could start a chemical reaction preventing you from making your own toilet blocks. Use a small atomiser so that the mixture won’t start foaming. Pour water a little at a time while stirring: it’s most convenient to use someone’s help. Continue until the paste gets sticky. Let the blocks dry in the mould. Afterwards you can place them in a jar. To refresh your toilet, simply place a block inside.
